We often don’t consider how pain can transform us and how adversity can be a catalyst for positive change. When we resist the pain of a breakup by suppressing our emotions, neglecting ourselves, or ignoring our pain through the pursuit of pleasure we only kick the can of pain down the road to later be introduced to a figurative dumpster of suffering.

When we willing work with the pain and through the pain we are transformed by the effort as the flames of adversity refine us to become something greater than what we were. Ultimately though, the choice is ours as to how we choose to respond to what life gives us. My question for you is, what will choose to do?

What is the difficult task in this particular situation? It’s recovering, healing, and transforming from your breakup or divorce. Our attitude and belief about what’s possible can play a role either in our betterment or our detriment. We can either be refined and empowered by the experience or depleted and destroyed. 🔥❤️‍🔥

This is not to say that it’s not without difficulty and sometimes great difficulty, but we make our experience more bearable when we work with it instead of resist it. Denying what we are facing only adds suffering to the challenge, but being a willing participant by accepting what’s before us makes the process more tolerable because we are able to adapt in order to grow. ⛈️🌱☀️

It may be one that requires the sacrifice of certain comforts, but short term sacrifice for long term gain is well worth the relief your mental health will experience.

The better understanding you have of narcissism from the traits to the way in which a narcissist behaves the easier it’ll be to make the changes needed to free yourself. The sooner you come to recognize what made you susceptible to the pathological actions of another, the more quickly you’ll be able to strengthen yourself against such things.

The path to freedom is one where you gain wisdom that not only allows you to move through life better, but protects you from the dysfunctional patterns of the past. You can do this, you can make the chained fence in your life disappear.

The act of rejecting aspects of ourselves is in essence an act of denying reality. It’s only when we accept things as they are that we can work with reality as it is in order to truly change. There’s no amount of pretending or imagining things to be different that will make it so. This is why when we accept ourselves as we are then we truly begin the process of change.

When you’re struggling with your relationship because of unhealthy behavior patterns, beating yourself up won’t make things better, but it will probably just add more resistance when it comes to actually changing for the better. All we can do is accept what we’ve done, accept where we are, and begin to love in a new direction from there.
